Sauna Etiquette
Follow these guidelines to ensure a respectful, safe, and enjoyable sauna experience for everyone.
Before You Enter
Shower First
Always shower thoroughly before entering the sauna. This removes sweat, oils, and impurities from your skin.
Remove Metal Items
Take off jewelry, watches, and glasses. Metal becomes very hot and can cause burns.
Bring a Towel
Always bring a towel or two. Use one to sit on and keep one for drying off afterward.
Hydrate
Drink plenty of water before entering. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout your session.
Inside the Sauna
Quiet Respect
Keep conversation minimal and voices low. Many people use the sauna for meditation and relaxation.
Use Your Towel
Always sit or lie on your towel. Never sit directly on the wood benches.
Door Etiquette
Close the door quickly when entering or exiting to maintain the temperature inside.
Personal Space
Respect others' personal space. Maintain appropriate distance from other users.
Listen to Your Body
Exit immediately if you feel dizzy, nauseous, or uncomfortable. There's no shame in taking a break.
After Your Session
Cool Down Gradually
Don't rush the cooling process. Step outside, take a cool shower, or take a dip if cold plunge is available.
Rinse Off
Shower after your session to remove perspiration and toxins released during sweating.
Rehydrate
Drink plenty of water to replenish fluids lost through sweating. Avoid alcohol immediately after.
Rest
Take time to rest and relax. Allow your body to fully benefit from the experience.
